People I Would Like to Meet:

I want to meet people who love God and are not afraid to say so.  I also want to meet people who are interested in encouraging other Christian women to be all that God created them to be.

RIC
Interests:I am a disabled sixth grade teacher with lots of time on my hands so now I am a freelance writer working on my first non-fiction book about romance for the Chrisian market that will be a blend of Biblical romances, modern day romances, quotations and love songs from the 30's-50's.  I am also an avid reader of Christian fiction and non-fiction.  I love spending time with my four grandchildren ages 2,7 and 13 (twin boy and girl), my Boston Terrier, Sassy, and my cat, Shadow.  I have been married to my loving husband for 31 years and wouldn't exchange him for anyone I have ever known.  I have a new website, www.mychristianromance.com, and a new blog, http://faithfulromance.blogspot.com.  Stop by anytime and chat a while!RIC
Favorite Music:Chrisian contemporary, especially love songs, Crooners of the 40's and 50's, Kenny Rodgers, Kenny G, Tony Bennett, Andy Williams, Johnny Mathis, you get the picture.RIC
Favorite Books:anything by Francine Rivers, Ted Dekker, Frank Perretti.  Very into sci fi and horror (not blood and guts but horror)RIC
Heroes:

My mom, who taught me everything I know about being faithful to God and to my family, my husband, my boys, and, of course, my grandkids.  I am still learning from all of them every day.

RIC
Other Interests:I have been known to knit and cook, though not very often.  I love searching the Bible for little known stories about little known women.  Most of all I love to read good books and write.RIC
My Philosophy on God:

God is first and foremost holy.  Were this not true, there would be no need for the sacrifice of Christ.  He is also a loving Father who is always there to pick us up, dust us off, and wipe our tears.  He lovingly convicts us of our sin so that we may be more conformed to the likeness of His Son.  He loves me where I am but He loves me too much to leave me there.  He is forever growing and stretching me into the likeness of Christ.

He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and He loves and chooses to be in a personal relationship with flawed me.  It boggles the mind!

RIC
My Philosophy on What Happens After I Die:When I die, I will be ushered into to the presence of God where I will spend eternity praising Him and doing His work!RIC
My Philosophy on Why I Exist:I exist to bring glory to God and obey His will for my life.  I am not and will never be perfect this side of heaven, but that is my purpose in life.RIC
My Philosophy on The Nature of Truth:Truth is absolute and if you want to know what it is, read your Bible.  God meant what He said.RIC

Susan,

How are things, my dear Sister?  I'm praying that the foot is on the mend and that you are coping well.  Hopefully Squirt has been an understanding pup; I'm sure she misses her walks with you!

Well, I am finally done with the exams, but I haven't received my final score yet, so I don't know if I have to take the dreaded thing over again in 6 months.  I think it could easily go either way, it was grueling.

Now I am busy getting ready for our sons' visit in a few weeks.  Andy will be home from the 2nd thru the 18th and then will go back to Hawaii from where they will deploy to Iraq in December.  They have received no word yet on their exact assignment or location, but I have no fears - God knows all.  I am so thankful for that peace as I imagine there are many parents that are just torn up with anxiety over their children.  I'm also so thankful that Andy feels that same peace.  It will be good to have the two of them home.  We will also be meeting Andy's friend Julia for the first time.  I'm not sure just how serious they are about one another, but she is a Christian also, so I pray for wisdom for the two of them.

Drop me a line when you get a chance - I continue to pray for your recovery and your writing and all the other wonderful things which you do.

Love and blessings,

Tammy

I'm so glad you are on the mend. Stop by my blog today, http://championyourdreams.blogspot.com/

because I think this is what you're talking about with Gomer. She didn't change her mind about who she was- which was a loved woman- and she went back to who she always had been.

What are you reading to help you put together your book proposal?

I'm praying for open doors for your book idea!

Oh my Susan, I can't imagine a mile walk with a broken foot!  You will certainly be in my prayers as you recover.  Hopefully your creative juices will be in overdrive as you sit and recouperate and you will get a lot of writing done!  We know "that all things work together for good" so your purpose now is to figure out what the Lord wants you to gain from all of this.

I saw my Ortho Surgeon Friday about my other hip and, while it isn't near bad enough to require replacement at this point, he did put me back on Mobic for the inflamation, which has helped tremendously already.  It is good to sleep again!  The pain in this hip apparently is due to some impingement in the joint and the formation of some small bone spurs, but he said there is plenty of joint space remaining, so it looks like another long ride till it is bad enough to replace.  Hopefully I can keep the inflammation down so as to minimize the pain.

Well, I'm off to the races - take care of yourself and try to relax and look on the bright side of all his downtime :)

Blessings!

Tammy

Hey there - sorry I've been too busy to chat much, just wanted to thank you for the Squirt story (which I've recounted a few times to fellow dog lovers!) and to let you know that I've been thinking of and praying for you.  Hope you are beginning to get some lovely fall weather your way and that all is going well with your writing and dog training.

Gotta run and pack - gotta go on a business trip for the rest of the week, yee haw.

Blessings, Tammy

Susan,

I am so sorry to read of the death of your student.  Murder is so senseless and it hurts when it is close to home.  I just wanted you to know that you and the victim's family are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.  (I have missed talking to you. I should have checked on you sooner. )

I am so kind of jealous!  I love big dogs and have had labs - they are wonderful dogs.  And a puppy!  Puppies are the bomb!  But, I don't have time for a dog so I haven't replaced my shepherd that we had to put down earlier this year.  The rest of your weekend sounds like the things great memories are made of, so kudos to you and yours.  Gotta run, talk to you later. HR (susan)

I tried to leave a comment on your web site but I'm not sure if I logged in right and I'm a bit confused by how to contribute there- so bear with me. But if you'd like to use any accounts of my romance with my husband- from my blog-

http://championyourdreams.blogspot.com/-

I'd be happy to contribute !

I have  never experienced losing a student or even a former student.  So I really do not have any words of wisdom for you.  It sounds like a really tough spot to be in.  I'm glad that you were able to see past all of the tough exterior.  I do not see many of my students the same way that so many other teachers do.  I hear teachers make comments all the time about how a student is lacking in certain areas but I just don't see it.  All I see is one of God's children who was put in my class room to love and help guide on their journey of life.  It sounds to me like you did everything you could to get him the assistance that he needed.  Unfortunately as teachers there is only so much that we can do.  I pray that he was a christian.  If he was you can rest assure that he is with the Lord now and not suffering any of his worldly hurts.

Good to have you back!  I'm pleased that you had a marvelous weekend and got the opportunity to do some reading, as well.  I look forward to the fruits of your rejuvenated creative spirit.  I haven't read a book for pleasure in what seems like ages but I take my last exam in mid October and certainly plan on exchanging the textbooks for others after that.

Other than that, I am thankful for the upcoming long weekend and the beautiful weather we have had lately.  The break from the heat, humidity and storms is most welcome.  Hope yours is grand, as well.

Blessings,

Tammy
