Education:College graduate
People I Would Like to Meet:Intelligent, spiritual, yet non-judgemental people. I think what turns many non-spiritual and/or non-Christian people off about our faith is the fire and brimstone messages many of us were given growing up, instead of an upbeat message about a loving and forgiving God that we can turn to in times of crisis. I think more believers will grow more comfortable embracing their faith as a result of this, as I did. smiley-smile RIC
Interests:

Hanging out with friends and family, spiritual development, karaoke, bowling, swimming, and intelligent, respectful conversation even if we do not agree on an issue.smiley-laughing

RIC
Favorite Music:

A little bit of everything, r&b, adult contemporary, pop, even SOME rap (Can I actually admit that on a Christian web site? smiley-surprised )

RIC
Favorite Books:

Usually self help books  and biographies. I also like, I guess you would call it faith literature, esp Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer.smiley-smile

NEW GROUP: "STUDY OF OTHER FAITH BASED BOOKS"!!!! (Sub-Group of Christian Girl Bible Study). Come join us!!!

RIC
Heroes:

To me, a hero is someone with extrordinary courage like someone who puts his/her own life in danger for the greater good like a firefighter or soldier., (and Jesus too of course, BUT I kinda thought that was obvious enough to go without saying...smiley-surprised ) However, the persons I RESPECT most in life are people who have achieved success and personal fulfillment while overcoming tremendous obstacles. smiley-cool

RIC
Other Interests:WRITING obviously....lol. A friend that I grew up with once told me to figure out how to be brief and not make everything I write a book.....lol.....smiley-laughing RIC
My Philosophy on God:

I like this site as opposed to other so called "Christian" websites because it focuses on the fact that we are all human, and that we all make mistakes, as opposed to being a website full of "Holy Rollers", who want to sit around in fake piousness, and pass judgement on everyone else. Whatever happened to:"There is no one righteous before GOD, and that everyone has sinned?" I believe that there is no room for that on a TRUE Christian website. I believe God is a loving, forgiving God who created everyone and who forgives everyone, even the people we, as humans, would deem unforgivable. smiley-smile

RIC
My Philosophy on What Happens After I Die:I believe that when you die, you go to purgatory at first to cleanse yourself of your earthly sins, then you get to spend eternity in heaven with GOD, and hopefully help your familiy members still on Earth with the things they struggle with.RIC
My Philosophy on Why I Exist:Well, I'm still in the process of figuring that out, which is why I started on this spiritual journey. BUT God says no one is an accident, and that HE has a fruitful plan for everyone's life. I've heard we are just supposed to trust God to lead us to it, but how do you know if your in His will, if you don't take at least some action towards figuring it out.....smiley-undecided RIC
My Philosophy on The Nature of Truth:I think everything happens for a reason, and that no person or circumstance that comes into your life is an accident. Also, whatever God brings you TO He will bring you THROUGH....in HIS time which I sometimes wish could be a little bit closer to mine...smiley-cool RIC

Hey Donna,

Awesome to hear from you! :) Sorry, I did end up falling asleep early.  I will text you soon.

VBS stands for Vacation Bible School and it's basically a summer's worth of Sunday School rolled into one week (although we still do regular Sunday School, too.)  It focuses on a central theme (about Jesus, of course) and it's LOADS OF FUN!!  I think I probably have more fun than the kids.  We sing and dance and eat, and do all kinds of crafts and of course we learn all about Jesus and what the Bible is and everything.  There's a mission project tied in as well and the kids really get into that as well.  VBS is an awesome outreach opportunity to the community because lots of kids come that aren't regular churchgoers and the most awesome part is when some of them "catch the fire" so-to-speak and start coming to church.  VBS is an awesome seed-planter.  It's lots of work, but it's also tons of fun.  I never really heard of VBS until about the late 90's (when I had my own kids) either.  I don't know if it's because my mom never took us or because VBS didn't exist when I was young.  Anyhow, kids love it.  And we use modern contemporary Christian music instead of the music that comes with the program because it's cool and the adults like it too.

I'll talk to ya soon!

Hello Donna ~ it has been awhile since I have been to your page and I just wanted to drop a line and say thank you for all your wonderful words of encourgment. It means alot to me. I am hoping to find time in the midst of the confussing life I have right now to get more connected with God. I feel as though God was put to the side alittle while I was doing all the runnning back and forth and I am ashamed to be saying that but it is the truth. I am just blessed and thankful that He is forgiving and that I am moving forward again in Hid grace and love for me and am feeling much better after just spending some alonr time with the Lord. You are truly a wonderful person and I again thank you for your love and prayers, Bonnie RIC

Hey Donna.  I want you to know I love ya and even though we don't see eye to eye nothing I say (type) is out of hatred or anger.  I love these conversations and believe we truly get to know each other better through them.  I also believe we grow spiritually by making each other think and know why we believe what we believe.  I believe even though we have opposite views, our personalities seem to be quite the same.  I have very much enjoyed getting to know you and hope to only get to know you more.  In Christ love, Wendy RIC

Hey there lady!!! I just wanted to drop you a few lines and let you know that your posts are very eye opening..... I may not agree 100 percent with you but I'm sure the same goes the other way too, but I appreciate your candor and openess and thank you for placing another perspective on the table!!!! There have been situations that I thought I had my mind made up on a topic and you have introduced a view that I had never given thought too and it has helped me be objective.. Between you and Wendy, I am pushed to face my beliefs and stand up for what I believe and have the strength that you and Wendy have to put myself out there and express my ideas with no regret and no shame... Thank you from the bottom of my heart....

I believe that without the Lord and without the support that I get from you girls, I would not be able to be as open or candid about my opinions. I never really stood up for myself until a few years ago..I think maybe it is the age or maturity or whatever.....I feel more secure with the Lord on my side and now I know that if I'm following Him and doing the best I can to be a decent person according to His commandments that I have the right to my opinions and beliefs and no one can take that away from me unless I let them!!!!!

Sorry about the rambling.......I just really wanted to thank you and tell you what a difference that you have made in my life....I count you high on my list of blessings from God!!!!!!!!

God Bless!!!

Keep Smiling!!!

Jackie

Thanks Donna, you are such a sweet person. You are right about God opening doors. He has been blessing us in so many ways. The VA called us today and said that Steve even quliafied for more benifits. So that will be nice and he also filled out the papers for us to buy a home. It is a big step but I really feel the Lord is working this out. She is a friend of mine and he mother goes to my church and we are needing to ove. Although we weren't thinking about buying at first it just sorta all seems to be falling into place. And we are just praying and we will see where God takes us. Till then like you said, study for the GED and put more effort into thr bussiness that I started. It was nice of you to write me back but you forgot to write on what was going on with you, lol. I will wait to hear from you. Love Ya, Bonnie RIC

Hello Donna, how are things going for you? The job I hope is going good. I am busy and soon will be out of a job but I am sure the Lord has this all worked out. He knows best. I am thankful for that. I do have some good news. My hubby finally filed a claim for his disability and although it will take awhile to get back because this is the milatary we are talking about I am thankful that it is finally done. And whatever little bit he gets will help. I am gonna study for my GED now that I won't be watching kids and throw more of myself into this home bussiness I started. Well, I am goona get the kids down for a nap and read in my Bible so I will chat with you soon. God Bless, Bonnie RIC
